Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman Announce “Mutual Decision” to Divorce After 26 Years of Marriage
Turns out divorce isn’t just an option for couples.
Influencer Suellen Carey sparked curiosity across the globe last year when she married herself in a practice known as sologamy. A year later she revealed that she is done with the practice and is divorcing herself.
“I realised that self-analysis and reflection is essential,” Suellen told The Mirror in an interview published Aug. 30. “It’s crucial to know when to end a cycle. Even commitment to oneself can have its challenges, such as dealing with the expectation of being perfect for yourself all the time.”
The 36-year-old—who was born in Brazil but now lives in London—shared she even went through couple’s therapy with herself to try and make the solo marriage last, but admitted there were times when she ultimately felt lonely in her relationship.
“I realised I was putting a lot of pressure on myself and that sometimes left me exhausted,” she explained. “I understood that even in a marriage with ourselves, it’s important to accept our imperfections.”
