‘SNL’ and Saks 5th Street Workforce Up for fiftieth Anniversary Products

Live from Saks Fifth Avenue, it’s new Saturday Night Live merchandise! The NBC Saturday night staple has partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue to celebrate its 50th anniversary, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.

Timed to the show’s 50th anniversary, the luxury department store has launched limited-edition SNL-inspired merchandise from Erin and Sara Foster’s Favorite Daughter brand and Le Labo Fragrances, they announced Tuesday. Fans of the show can visit a dedicated landing page on Saks’ website, which will feature the items available to shop. Favorite Daughter’s selection includes sweatshirts, t-shirts, tote bags, hats, jeans and a jean jacket, meanwhile, Le Labo has released a new take on their signature candle, dubbed “Live from New York, it’s SANTAL 26!”

The dedicated SNL landing page also has a look back at memorable sketches – 10 in total, two per decade – which will include a summary of the scenes and embedded video clips, according to a release from Saks. The luxury store teased inclusions such as “Spartan Cheerleaders,” “Debbie Downer” and “What Up With That.”

“We are excited to partner with Saturday Night Live, bringing together two iconic brands that have shaped culture and delighted our respective audiences for decades,” president and chief communications officer of Saks Global Emily Essner said in a release.

Saks Fifth Avenue and SNL have “a long-standing relationship,” according to a release from the brand, due to the fact their flagship store and NBC’s 30 Rockefeller Plaza headquarters are across the street from one another in Manhattan. “Through this collaboration, we will create experiences that resonate with our customers and honor the dynamic spirit of New York City, while spotlighting Saks Fifth Avenue’s unparalleled world of luxury and style alongside SNL’s cutting edge comedy and cultural commentary,” Essner continued.

“Fashion is paramount for us to bring our characters to life and resonate so strongly with our viewers,” SNL’s producer and costume designer Tom Broecker said in a release. “We’re so thrilled to collaborate with Saks to highlight the intersection of costume design and storytelling, and to further celebrate the show’s legacy.”

The SNL-inspired merchandise is slated to debut at pop-up shops within Saks stores in Beverly Hills and New York. The Saks Fifth Avenue New York flagship store will open the pop-up from Jan. 10 to Feb. 10. The pop-up at the Beverly Hills women’s store on Wilshire Boulevard will begin on Jan. 23 and run through Feb. 24.

The sketch comedy series has a slew of celebrations planned for the 50th anniversary, including the Peacock four-part docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night and NBC’s music performance docuseries Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music. SNL’s 50th anniversary celebrations will culminate in a live primetime special on Feb. 16 on NBC and Peacock.
